We welcome our incoming pastor March 30th, 2025

Rev. Dr. Neil Cudney

Neil and his wife Elizabeth have been married for 39 years as of June. They have two married children: daughter Kiersten and her husband, Dr. Matthew Robertshaw, PhD (both are educators), with two boys (9 and 7), and their son Seth and Megan Rowe-Cudney (community care professionals) with two girls (2 and 6). Neil has worked in various Christian ministries for 40 years. He served as Sherkston United Brethren pastor from 1993 to 2001. Neil and Elizabeth have planted two churches, Port of Grace in Port Colborne (1995), where Elizabeth served as an ordained pastor for 10 years, and Mill Crossing Church (2005) in Cambridge, Ontario, for 20 years. Neil worked for Karis Disabilities Services (Christian Horizons) for 25 years and was part of the senior management team, serving as Corporate Director of Organizational and Spiritual Life and Administration. This role had him travel globally and across Canada and the US, teaching, training, and lecturing on team culture, conflict mediation, and participating in an emerging theological inquiry: Theology and Disability. In Sept 2020, he accepted the President of Emmanuel Bible position, serving in that capacity for four years and then Chancellor.

Neil has always had a heart and love for the church. He followed in the footsteps of his father, a pastor with the Missionary Alliance Church, into his early 80s. Neil’s parents are still living on a farm in Flesherton Ontario. Neil is passionate about music and plays five different instruments. He loves to play, sing and lead worship teams. He is an avid reader and follows several Christian Apologists and Secular thinkers. He is passionate about helping the church understand and respond to its surrounding culture with the truth of Christ. He is also an accomplished bluegrass player and is the bass player for Granite Hill.

Elizabeth is from Ridgeway, Ontario. She attended Niagara Christian College in the mid-70s and graduated from Emmanuel Bible College. The Lord has been her Saviour and friend since she was a young child. She received a call to ministry in her early twenties. Pastor Elizabeth has a passion for prayer, discipleship and mentoring. A real highlight has been leading Senior programs for those with disabilities through the Church and starting a community Breakfast Club. She is presently a Spiritual Care volunteer at a local Senior’s residence. Pastor Elizabeth has been on the Executive Team of the United Brethren Denomination for the last 15 years as the leader of New Church Development. She is also warmly known as the “little bit wacky” Grammy to her 4 Grandkids. She adores her husband but admits his days learning the banjo did stretch her.

They look forward to following Jesus on this next adventure.
